MBMON,UTILITIES, Utility to capture messages written to a mailbox MBMON is a utility which captures messages as they are written to a mailbox and displays them and/or records them to a file for later display. TO USE ------ @dev:[dir]MBMON_STARTUP.COM then MBMON MONITOR mailboxname See help file for more info. Read access to the mailbox being monitored is required. Access is checked by the normal VMS mechanisms (MBMONCP assigns a channel to the mailbox). No extra privileges are required. To run MBMON_STARTUP and MBMON_SHUTDOWN requires various privileges including CMKRNL, SYSMAN and possibly others. AUTHOR ------ This program was written by Ian Miller. I usually use DEC C V6.5 on OpenVMS Alpha 7.3-2 @B_MBMON.COM This invokes the build files for each component. Individual components can be built by using their build files B_MBMONCP.COM, B_MBMON_PRV.COM, B_MBMON_EXECLET.COM, B_MBMON_LOADER.COM MBMON appears to build on OpenVMS Alpha V6.2 to V7.3-2 using DEC C. It does not build on OpenVMS VAX. I've not tried it on OpenVMS I64. INSTALLATION ------------ It is recommended that you build MBMON from sources. If you are using the pre-built .exe files then rename them from .EXE_Vxx to .exe Copy all the .exe for and MBMON_STARTUP.COM and MBMON_SHUTDOWN.COM to a directory. Insert MBMON.HLP into a help file. Define MBMON as a foriegn command. BUGS ---- There is an informational message output from the C compiler about putmsg that I would like to get rid of one day.
