This  memo  announces  the  availability  of  Version 1  of   XPORT,   a   BLISS
Transportability  Support  Package, for TOPS-10, TOPS-20, VAX/VMS, RSX-11M, IAS,
RSTS/E and RT-11.  XPORT Version 1 is currently distributed in two ways --  over
the DEC Engineering Network (VAX/VMS sites only) and on magnetic tape (all other
sites).  In the future, the XPORT Package will be included in appropriate  BLISS
Compiler kits.

If you would like to install XPORT Version 1 over the DEC  Engineering  Network,
request installation instructions by sending me a message via VAX/VMS MAIL.

If you would like to install XPORT Version 1 from magnetic  tape,  send  me  one
9-track tape for each XPORT kit you desire.  The following kits are available:

     TOPS-10 (supports only TOPS-10)
     TOPS-20 (supports TOPS-20 native, TOPS-10 via PA1050)
     VAX/VMS (supports VAX/VMS native, RSX-11M via AME;  also includes
                    RSX-11M, IAS, RSTS/E and RT-11 run-time modules)

Please inform me if the XPORT contact person at your  site  should  be  changed.
Note  that, beginning with this release, XPORT must be installed by someone with
privileges to update protected host system libraries.
