This does not raise any eyebrows for me.  I have seen a number of
manufacturers do this will all sorts of products.  I have always thought it
smart not to undersell your distributors.  If Microsoft were in the habit of
underselling their distributors, there would be mutiny among the resellers.

So it makes sense for the manufacturer to sell for full retail and let the
market do what it will.  They can sell a lot more product that way.  This is
an example of good economics at work.

Now a good consumer, on the other hand, will look around for the best price
he can find and buy the product there.

Disclaimer:  I get no kickbacks for taking the stance of a Microsoft
apologist, but I would not complain if I did.
