Using “net use” on my NT workstation, I mapped a drive letter to a directory on the VAX. (see Vtest in the smb.conf below) I am having some weird results (listed below) when updating files from this directory. Any ideas as to why this is occurring and how to solve it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JoeP I created a file on the VAX using the TPU editor. File on the Vax is a Sequential file with variable length and carriage return carriage control I then edited the file on my NT workstation using Notepad. I tried to save the file and got an access violation. OK so far. Then I tried using “save as” and the file saved, however, the file was now blank when viewing on the Vax Using notepad, I then read the file and it was garbage Created a file using Notepad and save to the drive letter mapped to the Vax. File on the Vax is a Sequential file with stream format and carriage return carriage control. I read the file using notepad, edited the file and saved back to the drive mapped to the Vax. The file appeared to save ok, however, when I read it on the Vax, the file had changes but not the changes I applied! The smb.conf is listed below.
