  The S3 Trio64 should work.  The ATI Mach64 "may" work (the ATI had a
bizzilion variations, so it all depends).  I'd stick with a simple 2mb
Trio64 card.

  VMS (and DU as far as I know) does not support the Adaptec card.  You
can use a QLogic, a Symbios (IntraServer) 875, or a NCR 810 for example.

  Don't know what you mean.  IDE support is new for VMS, and is not
supported on all models.  There have been postings about what to look
for (I believe that a show config at the console prompt must show a
Cypress bridge chip, and not the Intel SIO).  Additional support for
various IDE devices is underway and will show up with patches for the
new EV6 system platforms.
