Some quick notes:

I built this GZIP program from the LINUX distribution, as I found that the
existing GZIP programs on the VMS freeware CDs could not GUNZIP the tgz files
on the LINUX CDs.

After I rebuilt it, I added a few changes.  VMS format "/" qualifiers can now
be used to specify options.

Also full VMS wildcard specifications can be used.  This means that you can
gzip or gunzip multiple files, (usually TAR archives).

The prebuilt version requires the AACRTL060 kit when run on OpenVMS 5.5-2

Copies of ZIP.EXE can be found at various places on the WWW.  See the
OpenVMS FAQ at WWW.OPENVMS.DIGITAL.COM for likely locations.
