The boxes are identical except perhaps for options. The initial-ship VMS boxes may require a SCSI controller, but the IDE driver is, or will be, available with full DMA capability and support for use as a system disk. You can always purchase a SCSI card from DEC ala-carte. You should not have any problems running the Hobbyist license on the Linux box, and I have not heard anyone suggesting we try to stop personal use hobbyist licenses for these systems. If you do buy one for personal use, I'd suggest a IntraServer SCSI controller, and an ELSA Gloria Synergy-8 for graphics. You *will* need to obtain a number of patches that are required for the DS10/VS10 that are not on the V7.1-2 kit that you would normally get from the patch ftp site.
