Either specific pieces of the configuration such as the PCI bridge chipset -- or possibly just the SN- serial number on the bottom of the box -- is needed here... :1.) the reset button doesn't work. Field service changed the CPU-board, : the "raiser board" (I hope I got the spelling right), upgraded the "riser" : firmware to V6.9, still no luck. Once VMS is up, pressing the reset : button just freezes the system and I have to use the power switch! : Booting the station under Win-NT resulted in a working reset switch :-( : Anyone else seen this? Is this a firmware issue oder a VMS issue? : Who else is using this workstation? You will need to get the specific type of system and configuration checked to see that it works with OpenVMS. On various of the series, the button is "halt" -- check the console line -- not "reset". If you press the button, you must tell it to continue or to boot or to do whatever at the console. In other words, that button is "halt" -- not "reset" -- on various members of the Personal Workstation series. :2.) There is definitely a bug in the firmware concerning the command : "set language 0". Once you enter this command the keyboard gets completely : messed up. Just a hint for those who intend to buy this machine. Can't say I've seen that one... :3.) The sound card is not recognized by MMOV. Correct. We're looking to better deal with graphics and related support in OpenVMS as mentioned in earlier postings in this newsgroup by Fred Kleinsorge. :4.) Are the USB ports available under VMS? USB support is not presently available on OpenVMS. -------------------------- pure personal opinion --------------------------- Hoff (Stephen) Hoffman OpenVMS Engineering hoffman@xdelta.ZZenet.dec.com note to those folks not contributing spam -- there is no ZZ in my address
