See, e.g.: http://www.cpan.org/src/5.0/perl5.005_02.tar.gz There is an important patch to the Configure.com script for that release at: http://www.xray.mpe.mpg.de/mailing-lists/vmsperl/1998-08/msg00058.html To compile you'll need DCL, a C compiler such as DEC C, and a module management (ie make clone) such as MMS or MMK.
