Sometimes you can solve this problem by modifying the internal scsi-setup. Here's a little cooking recepture. Be sure that you know what you're doing: There are several programs that comes with OpenVMS/Alpha V7.1: [VMS$COMMON.SYSHLP.UNSUPPORTED] SCSI_INFO.EXE SCSI_MODE.EXE SCSI_INFO.EXE helps to get data from your scsi-device. SCSI_MODE.EXE modifies data of your drive. BTW: Where are the sources????????? Please, DEQ, could you publish them? i.e. "mc []SCSI_INFO.EXE dkb500: sgi_disk.log" writes a log-file, you should printout. As Glenn Everhardt pointed out in a previous posting: tagged queueing is being introduced since V7.1, but there are many OS (sgi, linux) that have problems with this feature, because the implementation seems to defer considerably. To disabling of tagged queuing issue the following command: mc []SCSI_MODE.EXE -page 0a -offset f 00 -devname dkb500: -devtype ibmdsas-3540 devname and devtype will be different. Hope the parameter offset is ok in every case, you will see this in SCSI_INFO.EXE, if in you 0a-page is a 01 at this place. Any comments will be appreciated Eberhard =============================================================================== Dr. Eberhard Heuser-Hofmann Univ.
