Just to be clear, this is not a disk size issue, it's a SCAM protocol
support issue. A 2.2GB disk with SCAM support would also show this
problem, where as a 4.5GB disk without SCAM support would not.

These are very nice systems, and I'm happy to have one. A few other
tips for folk with these machines:

- The default keyboard type (kbd_hardware_type) is PCXAL. If you
change this to LK411, a standard PC keyboard works pretty much the
same as a real LK411, except for the missing keys.

- The LK411 keyboard is available from Digital/Compaq for $75.

- I have seen PC keyboards which will work just fine at the console
prompts, but appear totally dead under DECwindows. You didn't
misconfigure DECwindows; get a decent keyboard.
