PINE is a full featured e-mail and news reading program that supports the IMAP protocol for accessing mailboxes on remote systems. This originated from University of Washington and was originally ported to VMS by Yehavi Bourvine. I've added many bug fixes and enhancements to the original port and it is now pretty stable. PINE fully supports MIME. Included in the package are both IMAP (only IMAP2bis at present) and POP3 servers which run on VMS (these can be built and installed separately from PINE if required). The package requires MULTINET or NETLIB (if you run other TCP stacks - UCX, PATHWAY, CMU etc..). It will build with VAX C, GNU C or DEC C on both VAX and ALPHA. The kit contains full source, plus objects and executables compiled and linked as follows: OpenVMS 6.2, DEC C 5.3, NETLIB 2.1 (both VAX and ALPHA) How to get it: http://alder.cc.kcl.ac.uk/pine-vms/ ftp://ftp2.kcl.ac.uk/pine-vms/pine-3-91-2.zip Please read the comprehensive instructions contained in the AAAREADME.TXT file before you install! This also contains a detailed list of changes made from all earlier betas and releases of PINE 3.91 for VMS. Regards, Andy Harper Kings College London
