Greetings.

This message concerns the book - "Windows NT File System Internals:
A Developer's Guide" from O'Reilly and Associates.

I have received some kind comments from people who have read the book; for
these, I thank you.

Recently, it was proposed on this newsgroup that some sort of "errata" list be
maintained for the book.

I will eventually have a web site containing errors noted, and/or updates for the
book. I will also be maintaining a list of errors for the book. Until I get around
to putting up the web site (not my forte :-), if there is sufficient interest, I will
occasionally post the list of errors for the book to this newsgroup.

If you have any comments regarding the book, please feel free to send them
anytime to the address given below.

Currently, the following points should be noted (thank you to Eliyas Yakub from
Microsoft for pointing these out):

/*******************************************************************************

(a) Page 156, penultimate line, CurrentStackLocation-1 should have been
    CurrentLocation-1.
(b) Page 160, CompletionRoutine paragraph, instead of saying completion routine
    will be invoked at some high IRQL, I would say IRQL<=DISPATCH_LEVEL. As high
    IRQL can also mean DIRQL.
(c) Page 169, 4th line, IRP_MN_MDL should be called minor function code instead
    of flag. Well, you can argue on that.
(d) Page 178, 2nd paragraph, fileobject signaling correction required.
    You mentioned that fileobject will not be signaled if an event object is supplied.
    This is wrong. The system also sets the fileobject in addition to event
    object specified by the user.
(e) Page 182, Sixth bulleted item, fileobject signaling correction required.

/******************************************************************************

Thank you and best regards,

- rajeev
