If Ioctl succeeds that means media is present. After that try to open the volume/file asking for write permission. If media is write protected then open will fail. Author: Mor.Naveh@kla-tencor.com (Mor Naveh) at MHS Date: 11/6/97 10:40 AM Hi, I'm (still) writing a filter to monitor access to the floppy device. Does anyone know how can I tell if the media is write protected without pooping up a system message (the 'Abort - Retry - Ignore' thing) ? Thanks.
