Virtual I/O cache is disabled by default, and can be enabled
by setting SYSGEN parameter VBN_CACHE_S to 1.

If enabled, it must be enabled on all nodes in a cluster.

Whether you choose to use the feature will depend largely on
the performance of your system.

Raxco and Executive Software sell I/O caching products also.
