Roots Emulation Page This page is dedicated to emulation issues, and will contain patches that I have written for other emulators. There is currently one patch, and this is to the Unix versions of MasterGear - Sega Emulator. If you run in 16 or 24 bit color in X you know what I have fixed. This is site NOT in any way a pirate place. I will not put patches or related emulator stuff here without having first contacted the author of the program. Second, there are no ROM images on this site what-so-ever. There are many places where you can go to find such illegal images, and this site is no part of it. (Hint try *.*.*.tw or for 100% success, ftp to /dev/null). On a related note, I am currently writing a simulated 8 bit microprocessor to study the evolution of self replicating code fragments. Mutation is caused by random errors (Prob=1e-6) in all memory accesses. The CPU is based roughly on the 68HC11 because that is the only 8bit processor that I can talk to. In the future I may post the code for this project here too. If you are interested in the project feel free to email me. Patches My color patch to Master Gear v0.7 Currently this patch simply allows one to choose an 8, 16 or 24 bit display as a compile option. Possibly tomorrow I will look into changing the patch to take a simple command line option, -[8][16][24]. If there are any of you who use 32 bit displays please contact me, and I can add that to the patch. The patch is based somewhat on a patch for 8/16/24 bit color for VGB. My Window Size patch to Master Gear v0.7 This patch allows a compile time setting of the window size of MasterGear. (1x, 2x,.. Nx). This patch is a superset of the first patch, that is to say, it does all the things the first patch does AND it alows fir a bigger screen. This is currently slow, if this is a problem for people, tell me and I'll spend some speedup time. Which sounds disturbingly like a "House Cat,"). Anyway Thanks for the willingness to wait! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more info please contact: root@hepserver.nhn.uoknor.edu This page is on HEPserver, a 486-66 LINUX PC providing network services to OU's High Energy Physics Groups.
