You can, therefore, change this logo to be anything you want. Create a bitmap image of 210 x 120 of any image you wish and save/replace the file called OEMLOGO.BMP located in the Windows\System folder or Windows\System32 folder depending upon your version of Windows. Now, when you bring up menus, for example the System Properties, your image will be displayed in the general tab. *Gina DLL* A replacement GINA DLL, used by 3rd party networking and remote access products can prevent Windows XP from allowing the use of the new Welcome Screen. To resolve this issue, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon. In the right pane, right click on the entry for GinaDLL and select Delete..Or... To change the autosearch URL, open the Search sidebar again and click Customize. Then click AutoSearch settings and select "Google Sites". Apply/Ok *Groups - User* Over View of All User Groups in Windows XP *Guest Account Cannot Access the Internet on a Dial Up Connection * For users who use the Guest account: After applying this Registry edit, if you use Fast User Switching, you can log on to an account (Limited or Administrator) and establish a Dialup Networking Connection. After the connection is established, you can use Fast User Switching to "switch" to the Guest account and the Guest account will have Internet Access. To work around this behavior, you need to add the KeepRASConnections value to the Registry. 1. Start the Registry Editor by clicking Start, Run and entering REGEDIT.EXE. Click OK. 2. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch and locate the Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon sub-branch. 3. Right click on a blank area of the right pane and select New, String value. 4. Name the new string value: KeepRASConnections 5. Double click the KeepRASConnections value and enter a “1”, without the quotes, for the value data. Click OK. 6. Close the Registry Editor by clicking File, Exit 7. Close all applications and reboot the computer. 8. When the computer has rebooted, log on to a Regular or Administrator User account and establish the Dialup Networking Connection.
