Subject: Re: VAXstation 4000-90A hardware problem Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2001 08:29:15 GMT From: "Hans Vlems" Organization: Zfree New Zealand http://www.zfree.co.nz - Complaints to abuse@zfree.co.nz Newsgroups: comp.os.vms The LED code XXXX 00X0 indicates a memory erro or system board error. My problem was that I'd put the memory back in the wrong order. The slots are coded 0 and 1 and memory of the same type must occupy the four "0" slots and the four "1" slots. The 4000-90A has a mix of 4 MB and 16 MB boards and I got it wrong. The slot order is 1 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 and the memory was put in like 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0. So it's alive again!
