The ChangeLog is attached as usually. The future is bright - we're getting closer to the new kernel design, which will allow porting to other Unices. Initially, Linux 2.4 (maybe 2.5) and NetBSD 1.5.2 will be supported. Sorry to all for not updating the CVS, I write most of the code off-line. The good news include the commercial support for Medusa DS9 in Slovakia and nearby countries by a newly founded company Terminus s.r.o ( http://www.terminus.sk/ - in Slovak language only). Don't worry, the Medusa DS9 project will, of course, remain open-source and GPL. The support covers installation, configuration based on customers needs, and other security and unix-related services. The most important changes are: * DISCONTINUED support of 2.2.x kernels. The patch for 2.2 is still in the package, but is unmaintained and contains no changes since the 0.9.0 release. The changes are relatively simple, so if you want to make the 2.2.x patch, or even maintain it, you're welcome. * The patch was SPLITTED into 2 separate patches. This means that you must patch your kernel with both patches, not only with one of them. The first patch contains generic kernel fixes, which should go into the mainstream kernel one day, the second patch is Medusa itself. * Support for file capabilities now works. Due to SUID bit emulation the original code didn't work as expected. Now it is (hopefully) ok. * Fix to walk through mountpoints correctly in 2.4 kernels. This is an important fix for all who used the Medusa on 2.4 and were surprised by its strange behaviour ;))). Other changes include: * When kernel (e.g. not some user application) sends a signal, the operation is allowed explicitly. this fixes ^C problems, and maybe races in some cases. * Disallowed sending SIGSTOP and SIGTSTP to constable, suggested by Libor Kratochvil. This simplifies the shutdown process. Reports on functionality are welcome. * Minor code cleanup. Best wishes, Milan Pikula -- Milan Pikula, WWW.
