Having been reminded by this post of the web site of my favorite cross-
plattform editor, I went and took a look.
Hey, there's a new (to me, at last - it seems to be from 1996 :-) version
4.00 out!

After some fighting (mainly against "char* isn't compatible to unsigned
char*"), I managed to build it from source. For anyone interested:

ftp://ftp.pdv-systeme.de/vms/ and in there
ue400dev-vms.zip the complete source distribution,
VMS and other parts tweaked by yours truly
ue400vms-vax.zip the OpenVMS/VAX V6.2 image + data files
ue400vms-alp.zip the OpenVMS/Alpha V6.2 binary + data files

The images were built with SMG support. I've not yet re-incorporated the
ability to serve as a mail editor, or to use the suspend-emacs function
(that my 3.11 and 3.12 versions had).

The archives don't include documentation; please get it from the web site.

cu,
  Martin
