Hi,

I've installed Java 1.2.2-1, and recently, the accompanying Fast Virtual
Machine. But I can't get it to work:

$ ! "normal" Java setup
$ @sys$common:[java$122.com]java$122_setup

JAVA$FILENAME_CONTROLS now set to: -1
$ java -version
java version "1.2.2-1"
Classic VM (build J2SDK.v.1.2.2-1:07/29/2000-02:00, native threads, jit_122)

$ ! FVM setup

$ java -version
md_gc_init: could not allocate heap of size,
 file USER2$:[JFEX.JFEX_VM.SRC.SYS.ALPHA]GCINIT.C;1, line 130

From the "size," bit, it seems the FVM is missing a (default) value for
the heap size (which, from the XUSAGE.TXT file, can be set by a command
line option. But how?).

Environmental information: OpenVMS/Alpha 7.2-1H1 + CRTL ECO.

Any idea? Thanks in advance for any clues.

BTW: Does it really have to be installed in SYS$COMMON: ? The setup contains
a shared SCSI cluster disk I would love to install this to, so that all
cluster members have access to it.
