I use the Exceed program XSTART to create a kinda of a profile to define
the login to to my VAXes and Alphas.  I run a com file as the command
that does the actual decterm launch.

	XSTART COMMAND:
		@@sys$login:xwindow.com @A/trans=tcpip

	Contents of xwindow.com:
		$ set display/create/node='p1
		$ create/term
		$ exit

some vms commands in you login.com file might interfere with starting 
a decterm so add this line to your login.com file near the beginning:

	$ if f$mode() .nes. "INTERACTIVE" then $exit

And if you have decwindows running on your vas/alpha it should work.
