     Bill,

If you're talking about connecting a VMS share on the client:

You need to purchase part# QM-2CLAA-AB which is a license for "file
and print access" clients. You need to load this license onto the VMS
machine designated as "license server" with SYS$UPDATE:VMSLICENSE and
then MC PWRK$LICENSE_MANAGER to add it the license to the license
     pool.

You must also load the client piece called a "license responder"...if
you are using TCP/IP to get at your VMS machine...DO NOT install the
DECNET network protocol on the client...ONLY THE LICENSE RESPONDER.

You can find the client software on the internet:

     ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/public/dos/pc/v5.0/pathworks_dos/5.0

     filename: pwv5clt_fpa_eco12.zip

If you're talking about emulation, there are several emulators such as
"Swift" from NetManage that can emulate TCP/IP telnet VMS sessions. If
your VMS machine doesn't support TCP/IP, then you will have to install
DECNET onto the client machine from the software up above and use
CTERM to emulate a VMS session.
