Recently one lab had Windows NT 4.0 installed but the bundled Telnet client (which only does VT-100 emulation) produces strange results when working in the VMS editor. Text The reason is really very simple. The telnet client bundled in NT doesn't have VT-100 emulation. It only has a subset of it, and parts of it is crippled at that. As soon as you start playing with scroll regions, that telnet client is completelly lost... Go for another client. EWAN is one I've used. It's not absolutelly perfect (I've seen strange behavior from it, but then I did something rather perverted), but it does work a lot better.
