Subj:	ETHERMON V2.4 beta release #3 now available

Greetings, all!

The next beta release (#3) of ETHERMON V2.4 is now ready. The new
enhancements/bug-fixes are as follows:

1) remove erroneous code in LAVC analysis (was reporting meaningless
data in LAVC ID messages, missing some LAVC identifications for newwe
    versions of VMS)
2) fix privilege restoration problem in SPAWN command (caused sporadic
SYSTEM-F-NOPRIV crashes of ETHERMON after doing a SPAWN)
3) centralize obtaining location of .EXE file (this is used in more and
    more places in ETHERMON)
4) add /ANALYZER function to TRACE command, put address table in global
section so /ANALYZER subprocesses can get at it (nifty new feature of using
advanced user-written packet decoders in real-time)
5) add identifying nodes with duplicate IP addresses (not enabled by default,
    added by beta-tester's request)
6) optional flagging of newly appearing source nodes (not enabled by default,
    added by beta-tester's request)
7) add system/device info to crash dump report (makes .CRASH_DUMP file report
    more complete)
8) clean up SUMMARIZE INTERNET command to report meaningful TCP & UDP
    port information
9) correct SUMMARIZE STATISTICS and DISPLAY STATISTICS to ignore "integer
    overflow" of unsigned counter values
10) correct SUMMARIZE STATISTICS averaging
11) make "rest-of-line" parameters be parsed more consistently (makes adding
     new commands easier)
12) add DEFINE/KEY, DELETE/KEY, and SHOW KEY commands (finally have "function
key" invocation of stuff); add SET KEYPAD command
13) add /MANUFACTURER qualifier to LOAD & SAVE commands

As usual, the new code is in a BACKUP saveset named ETHERMON_V24BETA3.BCK
in the top-level anonymous FTP directory on Internet host GW.SYR.GE.COM.
I will try to remember who needs e-mail delivery, but if you don't get it,
feel free to e-mail me a reminder (the gremlins ate my list of e-mail
delivery recipients).

Thanks again for the assistance.
