This is a maintenance release consisting of a num- ber of small fixes. The following is a brief overview of the changes made since the last full release (V51.1.24): V51.1.24 Mods at SPC - Fix an obscure looping condition. By Terry Kennedy 20-Jan-1991 V51.1.25 Mods at SPC - Support UCX remote user field, new PMDF deliver format, keep a local copy of XABPRODEF since DEC has broken the one in FORSYSDEF again. By Terry Kennedy 11-Jun-1991 V51.1.26 Mods at SPC - Add new terminal types to table, fix potential array bound problem there as well. Outbound UCX TCP/IP support. Correct long-standing problems which caused nodenames illegal to DECnet to prevent attempts over other transports. Correct problem with defined (in FINGERSHR) but unknown nodes causing FIN- ger to appear to die (exiting without printing any error message). Increase size of node name from 12 to 32 to accomodate TCP/IP hosts. Do TCP finger before Jnet finger. By Terry Kennedy 27-Aug-1991 V51.1.27 Mods at SPC - Add FING_NOSERVICE to report "object un- known at remote node" responses. By Terry Kennedy 16-Nov-1991 V51.1.28 Mods at SPC - Add support for Interconnections' TES terminals (QTAn: devices), fix idle time code which was broken for an indeterminate period of time. By Terry Kennedy 12-Dec-1991 V51.1.29 Mods at SPC - Fix undeclared/uninitialized updelta variable which caused uptime in the daemon versions to fluctuate wildly after the first invocation. By Terry Kennedy 16-Jan-1992 In addition, this version includes partial support for the DEC UCX TCP/IP package (while retaining the previous support for TWG TCP/IP). Special steps are needed to include UCX support. These steps are detailed in the file AAA-UCX.README, which will be included if you request the complete FINGER package. To acquire this version, you may use one of the methods below: For BITNET/USEnet sites and Internet sites without FTP access: Send an interactive message (BITNET sites) or a mail message (others) with a body (not subject) of: GET FINGER.PACKAGE to VMSSERV@SPCVXA.BITNET or VMSSERV@SPCVXA.SPC.EDU. You will receive a 25- part VMSSHARE package with instructions. For Internet sites with FTP access: FTP to SPCVXA.SPC.EDU (192.107.46.27) and change your working directory to [.FINGER]. Now issue an MGET *.* to retrieve all the files. You may discard the FINGER.nn_OF_25 files as you will have the un-split files as well. *************** IMPORTANT NOTE *************** If you were running a previous version of DECUS FINGER, you will need to delete your old object files and libraries from your FINGER build directory before building the new version. A number of definitions have been changed. You will also need to relink your FINGERSHR image and reload it with FING- MAINT in order to have the current structures there. If you omit this step, you may see erroneous output from FINGER. This is a maintenance release and is not the forthcoming complete rewrite of FINGER. However, this version should correct most reported FINGER prob- lems. As always, you may subscribe to the Info-Finger mailing list (if you haven't already) by sending a message to I-Finreq@spcvxa.spc.edu (or I-FINREQ@SPCVXA. BITNET).
