******************** Montréal Olympic Vélodrome ***************************

-The only covered velodrome in North America. Built for the 1976 olympics.

-The picture dates from just before the olympics when cyclists were giving
 the velodrome it first test.

-The facility which served approximately 3000 cyclists each year has been
destroyed by the Montréal mayor and Québec prime minister to make way for
a indoor zoo for tourists who visit the adjoining stadium. The track, made
from african rose-wood was destroyed overnight with chainsaws just after
cyclists had lost a court appeal to prevent this project from going ahead.
(all this during a provincial election, where no politicians were available
to discuss and consult with the public). The track was the first item to be
torn down, even though carpets, vending machines, seats etc etc were still
 in the facility.

-The picture has a blurred portion on the lower left portion.

- The TIFF format is in gray scale (256 tones supposedly). Was converted
to postscript with PAGE-MAKER (3.01). From the pstscript, converted to
various sixel formats with the DECPRINT utility.

-The LN03 format is in sixel, requires and LN03 PLUS and will take approx
15 minutes to download to the printer because it cannot process sixel
as fast as the communications line.
