The RF71 is an ISE-Intelligent Storage Element. It has an integrated controller that has many sophisticated functions built-in, such as diagnostics, parameters, etc. You have to actually "SET HOST" to the disk to change the node name. This is true even if the SYSGEN PAR ALLOCLASS is set to a non-zero #, as it is in your case (1). First, connect the driver that allows you to set host: $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:SYSGEN CONNECT FYA0 /NOADAPTER EXIT $ Next, connect to the drive & change the node name. This is documented in the hardware installation manual for the RF71, if you still have it. BEFORE you can do this, I think the disk drive must be dismounted. After changing the parameter, the disk CONTROLLER will re-initialize, and the disk will go off-line for a couple of seconds. $ SET HOST /DUP /SERVER=MSCP$DUP /TASK=CONFIG R7ERBD (I'm not 100% sure of the task name)... . . . > SET ALLCLASS 1 > WRITE -- /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ |Greg Askew uunet!uupsi!pbs!npri6!talos!greg_a | |NPRI - Alexandria, VA 22314 703.683.9090 * VMS 5.4-1 | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/
