Anyone have any information they can pass on? Digital sells some software and services through the ASSETS program. ASSETS software generally is stuff that was developed internally but recognized as so useful that Digital ought to sell it, or that was developed by some group for a particular contract and then generalized for wider use. It doesn't originate formally with engineering developing groups, and usually doesn't have regular updates or re-releases. It isn't in the product price book, but is supported; and generally the purchase price includes installation. There are several ASSETS "libraries". Below my signature I've included an edited-for-public-consumption list of the latest abstracts from the Networks, Communications, and Systems ASSETS Library. Most of these are for VMS, but that's subject to change. Please let me know if you find this posting useful; if so, I'll try to hunt down and post more abstracts from ASSETS. I'm not qualified to answer questions on individual packages, but a sales rep should be able to find out about them. ---Pete kaiser@cheese.enet.dec.com DEC, 2 Mt.
