THEnet is a NSFnet mid-level network.

Many THEnet nodes are directly accessable from the Internet. I think
you can retrieve a localhosts file via anonymous ftp to
emx.utexas.edu: /pub/utexas.hosts/localhosts.

Internet mail to THEnet DECnet nodes may be addressed to:

<user>%<thenetnode>.decnet@utadnx.cc.utexas.edu
e.g.: rick%digate.decnet@utadnx.cc.utexas.edu

SPAN mail to THEnet DECnet nodes may be addressed to:

utspan::utadnx::<thenetnode>::<user>
e.g.: utspan::utadnx::digate::rick

THEnet DECnet node names may be obtained via anonymous ftp
to utadnx.cc.utexas.edu; the file is thenet_nodes_full.com.

I don't know who/what this is, so it probably isn't a good idea.
