Yes, we include a Unix LPR protocol client (a VMS symbiont) and server (which also maps Unix printers to VMS print queues) as part of our MultiNet TCP/IP product. I had previously ported the Unix LPD system to VMS, but felt I could do better in MultiNet by using the VMS queue system instead of the LPD-style queues. > I have talked with Wollongong and they did not seem real > enthusiastic about adding this feature to the WIN/TCP product. This feature (especially the server half) seems to be a big hit with our customers. It allows you to reduce the number of $$$ spent on printers and printer maintainance by not requiring that you have a separate printer for your VMS and your Unix `clusters'. For the same reason we supply a server 'rmt' which allows you to rrestore or rdump your Unix disks to a VMS tape drive. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have about MultiNet or LPR/LPD implementation. Kenneth Adelman TGV, Incorporated
