Actually, you could do this with a learn and remember sequence in TPU fairly easily, but the problem with that solution is that it will show you what it's doing as you're doing it. Being an EDT hack, I would suggest the following... Edit the file with EDT. Note the number of lines in the file. go to the top of the file. Do Gold-KP7 to get Command: and type Define key gold r as "(d+10c10(32asc)+nl)." and press return (that should be typed exactly as above) Now press KP4 to make sure you're in ADVANCE mode. Press Gold r (or whatever key you defined, that's up to you), and make sure it worked. It should automatically position you at the beginning of the next line. Now do GOLD (then type the numbers on the keyboard not the keypad that are the number of lines in the file and then) GOLD R it will take a while for the screen to refresh as it's working. At the end you should be on the very last line of your new file. so it's GOLD #lines from keyboard GOLD R. I just read this and sounds more difficult than it is. Frop me a line or call if you have problems. Richard DeJordy Systems Programmer American Mathematical Society RAD@MATH.AMS.COM (401) 272-9500 x295 -------
