It isn't. >(Well, it is, but I can't see how it applies to us). > [...] Well, the "Guide to VAXclusters" (AA-Y513A-TE) says nothing about it either. However, having done something similar, I think it's possible. The eaisiest way would probably be: 1) Make a backup /IMAGE of your system disk to another pack because the following procedure can't be done on the system disk of a running system. 2) Mount the new disk to your process. It won't mount /SYSTEM unless you change the label. All subsequent commands apply to this disk. 3) Create the directory [v4common]. Then rename all of the system directories to be under it. 4) Create your root directory [sys?]. Create empty system directories under it. (I'm assuming you have a VAXcluster you can look at to determine just what directories you need. If not, I can send you a list). 5) Create the directory [sys?.syscommon] by using a SET FILE/ENTER command to be the same as V4COMMON. 6) Move the system specific files to the [sys?.sys???] directories. (Again, it's easier to look on a running cluster). 7) Invoke sysgen and USE [SYS?.SYSEXE]VAXVMSSYS.PAR. Change appropriate parameters (VAXCLUSTER, SCS_NODE, QUORUM, etc.) for your cluster. Then WRITE [SYS?.SYSEXE]VAXVMSSYS.PAR. Also be sure to change the same ones in MODPARAMS.DAT so you won't lose them the next time you AUTOGEN. 8) Alter your boot floppy to specify the system root to boot from (CIBOO.CMD if you use HSC disks). And reboot using the new system disk. I think that should at least get you close. Since I have never tried this exact scenario, I won't guarantee it. Good luck. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Dale O. Miller | # # ### # #### | | University of Arkansas at Little Rock | # # # # # # # | | 2801 S.
