In an earlier message I reported a configuration problem I was having with a vaxstation-II and various devices. The real problem was that I didnt know the exact name of the VCB01, so did not bother to include that in the SYSGEN CONFIG command I was using. Maybe I forgot the DZ also, either way, if you leave out devices you may fail to get the correct results. Any time you are adding a device you want to autoconfigure properly you *must* run SYSGEN CONFIG, since the computations required may be too complicated to give in simple tables such as found in the Emulex documentation or your memory. Even if this is the 100'th time you have added a device to a VAX and you think you know what you are doing. $ MCR SYSGEN CONFIGURE DEVICE> tk50 2 DEVICE> vcb01 DEVICE> dz11 DEVICE> rqdx3 DEVICE> ^Z [EXIT] The resulting table then tells me what I should be setting Device Name CSR VECTOR UDA PUA 772150 154 (this is my RD54 controller, DUA0: DUA1:) TU81 PTA 774500 260 (this is the tk50, MUA0:) DZ11 TTA 760100 300 (my TTY lines, TTAx:) TU81 PTB 760444 310 (my emulex QT13, MUB0:) VCB01 VCA 777200 320 (my vaxstation video board) -gjc
