If you wish to call home: at the local prompt on the terminal server type: CONN ULTRIX_X29 login as x25 with password ultrix (note this MUST be in lower case) to connect via X.29 x29login dte-number to run up a test demo in Australia use: x29login 050527532100233 Assistance or answers to questions can be obtained from the X.25 for ULTRIX demo area next to the Networking booth. ================================================================================ Note 2.1 ULTRIX X.29 access to your home ... 1 of 1 TEMBEL::THOMASH16 8 lines 20-AUG-1991 16:14 -< Specifying call user data >- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To specify call user data on your call use th e-u option: x29login -u mycalldata dteaddress eg. x29login -u FRED 050512345677 The call use data is case sensitive so if it needs to be in upper case then you have to type it in upper case. ================================================================================ Note 3.0 Just what is a "block"? No replies TEMBEL::STEERB20 14 lines 20-AUG-1991 14:55 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How is this for a silly question. I have become confused how many bytes there are in a "block" under Ultrix. In the doco, when DEC talk about the actual disk devices a block is 512 bytes. However, what is the block refered to when you use edquota? I thought (and in the moment I had to experiment I believed I had confirmed that edquota's block was 1024 bytes). Now, one of my people I have left at home tell me they spoke with one of our software guys at DEC and he reckons it is 512bytes... OK, its a silly question...but I cant seem to find an answer that satisfies me... Bevin Steer, Uni of SA.
