NAME
     xdpyinfo - display information utility for X

SYNOPSIS
     xdpyinfo [-display _d_i_s_p_l_a_y_n_a_m_e]

DESCRIPTION
     _X_d_p_y_i_n_f_o is a utility for displaying information about an  X
     server.  It is used to examine the capabilities of a server,
     the predefined values for various parameters used in commun-
     icating  between  clients  and the server, and the different
     types of screens and visuals that are available.

EXAMPLE
     The following shows a sample produced by _x_d_p_y_i_n_f_o when  con-
     nected  to  display  that supports an 8 plane screen and a 1
     plane screen.
