On a Windows system you might think it's a system disk swapped in from another configuration but that does not happen with VMS. Well, unless the system disk was tailored off, manually that is, not with the tool. SYstem Manager was also used in the mainframe world; I was one before I moved to VMS, but this was a job IBM seemed keen on replacing with various software tools. I think pressure was exerted by HR departments to take the word "manager" out of the job title, P.S. My work/residence permit here in Switzerland was initially tied to the job and hence my job title of "System Manager" was printed on it. On more than one occasion I got the impression that this was no bad thing :-) -- Paul Sture ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Jul 2008 11:00:30 +0200 From: "H Vlems" Subject: Re: TSM on Integrity Message-ID: <488c392e$0$14243$bf4948fe@news.tele2.nl> "Marc Van Dyck" schreef in bericht news:mn.d8a87d877c62612d.86952@brutele.be... >H Vlems formulated the question : >> schreef in bericht >> news:830ef181-1f6a-424e-9a34-97a33d5f5d82@m36g2000hse.googlegroups.com... >>> Has anyone TSM (Terminal Server Manager) running on OpenVMS Integrity >>> server? >>> Where can I download this software for Integrity? >>> >>> Regards, >>> >>> Toine >> >> It's good to read that Volvo's are still being built with the help of VMS >> systems. >> Where are you located Toine, Genk? >> Hans > > Volvo in Belgium is in Gent (with a t, not with a k), in province > Oostvlanderen, not Genk, which is in province Limburg, where you find > the cuncurrent company Ford. When Volvo is a large VMS customer 'wouldn't it be better to get one or two VAX 4100 class systems and run TSM on them? Failing that, what about running a simulated VAX/VMS system with TSM on it? SIMH is probably out of the question, but this is where CharonVAX is an obvious solution.
